About Us and our Service

Why are we called The Maze?...
When a child receives a diagnosis the parents often find themselves in a maze
of emotions and information that leaves them  feeling lost and alone.

We hope to be able to help you through the Maze so that you can find
the very special child that is at it’s heart.

Seeking a diagnosis is only the Beginning of what is often an exhausting and
very emotional journey. Often it feels that the only way to get the services that
your child needs is to fight for them.

As parents we often feel isolated and afraid and have very little time left for
ourselves and the other people in our families.

We have needs too. Sharing strategies with other parents can make coping that
little bit easier and knowing that you are not alone can  make all the difference.

                  * We can offer you a safe space where you can meet and talk to other
Parents with children on the Autistic Spectrum

                                   * We offer support and information sharing

             * We understand that sometimes sharing with others is difficult and we
can help you take those first steps to access support.

             * We are a drop in so we don’t expect you to come every week if you
                                                            don’t want to.

                 * We may not always have the answers you are looking for but we
promise to listen and try and point you in the right direction.

               * We have a book lending Library and also a number of resources
offering practical help with charts and visual aids.

               * We can offer advocacy at meetings or just come along as a silent
friend, offering you the chance to talk about your feelings afterwards.

*We can help with form filling.

             * Most importantly we know what a bad day is without you having to
                                                        take the time to explain

We don't promise to have all the answers you are
looking for, we are parents ourselves.
But we do promise to listen and try and point you in the
                                                           right direction

*We can provide training for both parents and professionals
